Ocean View Montessori school was established in 1993 and has built a solid reputation in the community. The school has continued to evolve over the years, yet remained true to its core purpose of providing an excellent foundation phase education and experience for its pupils. 18 Months - 3 Years

Our Toddler environment provides a nurturing experience for little people taking their first steps out into the World.  The loving and consistent approach of our team  facilitates  the development of trust, which quickly eases the settling-in process.

Pre-Primary Group

3 Years - 6 Years

The child is now ready for a wider range of friendships and is much more comfortable being away from home. Montessori observed that children of this age have the ability to absorb information like a sponge. Learning and language development proceeds rapidly.

 

Group size 15 pupils: one teacher and shared classroom assistants.

6 Years - 9 Years

Having been nurtured in the pre-primary, the children enter our primary class ready for new challenges. Intellectual stimulation at this stage lays a solid academic foundation and facilitates the development of divergent thinking.

About Us

The toddler, pre-school and primary campus is situated in the quiet suburb of Durban North.  This central location  is easily accessible from Umhlanga in the north and Morningside and the Berea to the South. Nature and light abound in this homely and child orientated setting.  

Ocean View is registered with the Department of Social Welfare and the Department of Education.  We are long-standing members of The South African Montessori Association, with full membership status.
